Offered to the Lycan King by Misha K

Chapter 191

Tabatha was brought to the dungeons of the castle by the warriors along with her aunt. They were both shackled in chains.

Arthur and Hawk were seething. They had so much fury in them that they seemed to shift into their wolves and Lycans every other time. Their beasts wanted to k*ill Tabatha and rip her limb by limb. Their furs would ripple over their arms and back as their beasts warred inside them to be let out.

Hunter and River had to be present there along with their sons to stop the mayhem. They knew that the twins would not stop at Tabatha. They would go after their families also. The rage in them was uncontrollable. “Go to Lia!” Hunter ordered them. “She must be shaking with fear!”

“I am not!” Lia’s controlled voice came as she entered the dungeon and entered the prison where Tabatha was. She came to stand in the middle of the brother and placed her palms on their forearms. “Shhh… calm down…” she mumbled under her breath and stroked them softly. The twins soothed down and shifted back to their human forms. Arthur grabbed her waist and tucked her to his side as Hawk held her h*and in his. “Lia?” River’s concerned voice reached her ears. “Why are you here, sweetheart?”

“Aunt River,” Lia said softly. “I want to know why she went to such lengths…” Then she looked at Hunter. “Can I interrogate her?” She sought his permission.

“Sure,” Hunter allowed her. “But stay at least five to six feet away from her. Though she is shackled in silver, I don’t trust her.”

Lia nodded and stepped in front of Tabatha. Arthur and Hawk went to stand by her side protectively, their claws drawn out just in case Tabatha or her aunt tried to attack her.

“I have to say that Tabatha you are a moron,” Lia started.

Tabatha hissed. “And you are a b*itch! You came into my life and turned it upside down.” A dangerous growl from Arthur made her balk in fear. She whimpered and scuttled back.

Lia chuckled but her chuckle didn’t reach her eyes. She avoided her remark. “When I was going to my parents’ house a week back, how did you come to know that I would go in my car and not with Arthur and Hawk?” Tabatha averted her gaze with a scoff.

“Well, let me tell you. You sneaked on our conversation all the time. While both you and Gwen were showing that you weren’t interested, you both had ears on what we were talking about,” Lia pointed. “I had informed my mates that I will take my car and so your plan started rolling. You wanted to k*ill me. You thought that after k*illing me, my mates would get depressed, but they would eventually come out because you would be around them and help them out of their depression.”

Hawk’s growl made the bars of the prison shake. His Lycan again tried to break free but Hunter came from behind and stopped him. “Wait son, Lia is here. You don’t want to hurt her.” Hawk tampered his Lycan down after a lot of effort.

Lia continued, “You bribed my driver to take me through that route. Your aunt—” she glanced at the woman shackled in chains on the left. “She was ready with the truck to hit the car. You were waiting for my car to reach there in your Lycan form. As soon as my car reached, you rushed to your aunt and signaled her. The way the truck hit my car, you were sure that I would die, but nothing serious happened.” She crossed her arms across her c*hest. “Now how was it possible that while I lay in bruises and a concussion on a hospital bed, the driver escaped with minor injuries despite the fact that the collision occurred on his side? Do you know that he was discharged in just a day or two?”

“You can conjure any theory you like!” Tabatha spat.

“No conjuring theories. It was simple to understand. The driver knew that you were about to collide with us so he swiveled the car in a way that the collision came to my side. Because the car swiveled, it tumbled and I was saved. If he hadn’t swiveled the car in the opposite direction, I would have been crushed. Your aunt panicked and she reversed the truck and sped off.”

“Goddess!” River breathed, unable to believe it. “How do you know all this?”

Lia looked at Asher who came to give her a pen drive. “It’s all in this video recording.” She h*anded the pen drive to River. “Once I was admitted to the hospital, you came there and met Arthur. You said that you were visiting your aunt in the hospital which would have been your perfect alibi, but—” She held Arthur’s h*and and tugged him. “He identified your scent in the woods along with Asher and his team. Did you think they were so naive?” Tabatha paled at the mention of it.

Lia shook her head. “Had Arthur not identified your scent, which was highly likely with the way you had tried to mask it by rubbing linseed oil on you, we couldn’t have found the connection. Your alibi was strong except for the fact that your aunt was admitted on the same day as I. You both were there just to see how I was doing. You both wanted me dead and were waiting for an opportunity to k*ill me if I was alive. Asher can prove that because he has videos from the hospital too. You-” she pointed at Tabatha. “You were seen loitering in the corridors of the hospital, but you could never reach me because my corridor was cordoned off and there were guards everywhere. Besides, Arthur and Hawk barely left me.”

Lia closed her eyes as the gravity of Tabatha’s plan weighed upon her. Arthur came to her side and she leaned into him.

“She is so weak, both mentally and physically?’ Tabatha scoffed. “What do you see in her?”

Lia opened her eyes. “I don’t know what they see in me, but they see a murderer in you!”

Tabatha bared her fangs at her in fury. Enraged as hell, Hawk jumped at her and grabbed her n*eck in his f*ingers. He started squeezing it h*ard. Tabatha coughed and wheezed as tears rolled out. Her aunt shouted, “Leave her! Please!” Only when Lia placed her h*and on his back, did Hawk calm down.

“If you dare to disrespect her again, I won’t even listen to my mate!” Hawk warned her menacingly. Tabatha coughed and slouched on the ground.

Lia started again, “Now aren’t you a moron that you tried to do the same thing when I declared that I was going to my home? Did you really think that it was so easy? Did you really think that I would take the same route a week later and that too without my mates following me?”

Tabatha snapped her head up, her eyes wide. Lia laughed. “That was all a part of our plan. I announced loudly that I would go to my parents so that we could elicit an action from you. Though it wasn’t needed because we had enough evidence, but we wanted to know who the truck driver was. And guess what? We got our culprit so fast!” Lia chuckled as she looked at her aunt. “But this is not where it ends?” She took a step closer to Tabatha. “You have to give me names of those who helped you.”

“No one helped me!” she retorted.

All at once the iron door of the prison opened and Shawn and Lena shoved Gwen inside.

“See, your accomplice has arrived.”

Gwen stared h*ard at Tabatha and she froze. “Tabatha?” she squeaked, fear lingering on her face. She whipped her head to Hunter. “Alpha Hunter, I didn’t do anything!”

Hunter narrowed his eyes. He crossed the gap between them and backh*anded her. Gwen shrieked in pain as she was hurled across the prison and landed next to Tabatha. “Whose truck was that?” he growled, his Alpha power spilling out of him.

“What truck?” Gwen rasped.

Lia c*ocked her head. She pulled her phone out and showed her a registration plate. “This is the original registration plate of the truck you own.” She shoved the phone in her face. “Just before you gave this truck to Tabatha to use, you had painted the number plate black.”

Gwen whimpered. “I— I am sorry! But this was Tabatha’s idea. She hates you more than you can think. She wanted to k*ill you, not I.”

“What?” Tabatha stared shocked at her words. “It was you who came up with the plan. I was trying to protect you sitting in the dungeon, and you have thrown me to the wolves?”

“Shut up!” Gwen hissed. She scrambled away from her. “It was you who wanted to k*ill Lia and get into Hawk’s p*ants and wealth.”

“As if you didn’t want to?” Tabatha shot back. “You were the one who was pissed off by Lia’s presence. You were the one who beat up Lia when you first met her.”

“What the f*uck!” Gwen shouted. “You also beat her up. You were the one who locked her in the bathroom!” Another slap resounded and this time stars burst into her vision. Gwen simply blacked out. She didn’t even know who had slapped her. Arthur towered on her unconscious b*ody with his fangs and claws drawn out. “Leave them Arthur? Lia’s soft voice came. “Let’s go up. I don’t know what your laws are for attempting to murder, Alpha Hunter, but in our world, it is lifetime imprisonment.”

“And it is usually death in our world,” Hunter replied.

“Then you do what you want to,” Lia said. She grasped the h*ands of her mates and walked out of the dungeon with Shawn and Lena following them. She needed a break and for that she was going to go to her home. She wanted to be with her parents and her mates. She needed to feel safe and only three people made her feel that. Shawn, Arthur and Hawk.

She hugged Shiloh who was standing by the car. As soon as she sat inside with her, Shawn drove his daughters to home. Arthur and Hawk followed.
