Offered to the Lycan King by Misha K

Chapter 192

When they reached home, Lia grabbed her daddy’s h*and and walked inside with Shiloh on the other side. She made him sit on the couch and Shiloh sat on the other side. It was like the two girls were extremely attached to their father.

Hawk and Arthur sat on the sofas opposite to them as they watched all the love and affection. They understood that Lia needed a deeper assurance and that could only be given by Shawn.

Lena was very happy to see her family come together. She rushed to the kitchen to make coffee for them, blinking her tears away. She sympathized with Lia a lot. The poor girl was separated very early from the only parent who loved her the most. She couldn’t think of what Natalie did to her. She wouldn’t even dream of doing that to either Lia or Shiloh.

“Daddy,” Lia said, snuggling into his upper arm.

“My baby…” Shawn stroked her hair. “I am so sorry that you had to go through all this.”

Lia curled her arms around his arm. “It’s all over and I don’t want to think about it.”

“You shouldn’t,” he said. “You have to look to the future and not the past. Those who did this to you, don’t deserve to stay in your memories, but-” he lifted her face up in his palm. “You should learn from these bad experiences.

Any experience in your life can turn into a failure or success. If it’s a failure, you have learnt from it, if it’s a success, you have discovered the mantra.” He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “I want you to reflect on your past experience and come up with a plan on how you can combat it.”

Lena had come with a pot of coffee and pastries. “That’s right, Lia. Your father is worried about your future. We have to come up with a plan to keep you safe in the worlds of werewolves and Lycans.” Lia nodded as she looked with a smile at Lena. “Come here, mom,” she said, patting on her side. Surprised, Lena kept the tray on the table and went to sit next to her. “What is it, Lia?” Lia immediately hugged her. “I wish you were my mom.”

“Oh Lia!” Lena hugged her back t*ightly. “I am your mom.” This time she couldn’t stop her tears. Shiloh came from the other side and joined them as Shawn watched his family with pride in his c*hest. The best decision that he had taken in his life was when he had accepted Hunter’s offer to build a hotel in this world.

Coffee was poured in the cups by Hawk as Arthur attacked the pastries. “I have an idea on how Lia can protect herself,” Arthur said, devouring the pastries.

“I am listening,” Shawn said, taking the cup from Hawk.

“Uncle Elijah was saying that Lia should be trained to become the future Luna of the pack. There are a lot of things that she has to learn but one of the most important things is that she should learn how to fight.”

“But she’s a human,” Shawn argued. “Even at her best. She won’t be able to survive an attack from a Lycan or werewolf.”

Arthur took a ragged breath in. “I know, but any kind of warrior skill will be beneficial to her.”

“That’s right,” Hawk added. “With her intelligence, she can easily dodge the attack. I know she can do it.” Lia chuckled at how confident her mates were about her.

“That’s true. She is pretty intelligent,” Arthur said. “I would strongly suggest that till she goes to college, she should learn to fight.”

Suddenly Shawn stiffened. “College?”

Lia looked at him with a puzzled expression. “Yes daddy,” she said as if asking for an answer. “I will go to college after school.”

“Lia, I am scared. Garry is still out there, lurking in the shadows. I don’t trust him one bit.”

“He doesn’t know where I am daddy’’ Lia smiled. “So relax.” Shawn shook his head. “I can’t. Not until that bastard is still out there.”

“In that case, it is necessary that she learns the warrior skills, Shawn,” Lena said. “The Dark Moon pack has one of the best trainers.”

“I will be training her!” Hawk growled.

“And I,” Arthur added seriously.

Lena stifled a laugh. She knew that both of them were too protective about her and wouldn’t let anyone t*ouch her. “That would be fine.”

Shawn sipped his coffee as if contemplating the idea. After a while he said, “Okay, but be sure that she isn’t hurt, because if she is, I swear I will come after you two so badly that you will not find a place to hide on this earth!” Hawk and Arthur gasped. They stared at Shawn with wide eyes. At last they nodded, not wanting to argue that they were stronger than him in every way. But then he was their mate’s father and very protective.

“Great!” Shawn said. “So she can start her training from next week. She isn’t well enough to go for physical training.”

“Can I also join the training?” Shiloh asked enthusiastically.

“No, you are too young, pup!” Arthur said condescendingly. “Maybe, next year.”

Shiloh pouted as Lia giggled on her sister’s anger.

For the whole week, Lia stayed at her home but Arthur and Hawk would come to pick up the sisters. With Gwen and Tabatha permanently suspended from the school, most other bullies stayed quiet. No one had the guts to say anything to Lia after they heard what happened to the girls who tried to k*ill her. It was Elijah who made it clear to the school administration to take very good care of Lia.

Hunter and River became restless in the meanwhile. “You have to understand Arthur,” River’s serious voice had a no-nonsense tone. “We have to declare Lia as the future Luna of the pack. We will officially welcome her in our house and also send letters to all other packs about it. She has to participate in all the official functions. She has to start so that she is seen by everyone and understands the dynamics, makes relations and conducts herself accordingly in the meeting of the Alphas. I am sure that the Elders have already come to know about it. It is a matter of time that they will press your father and me to declare her as the future Luna of the pack.”

Arthur pinched the bridge between his eyebrows. He was unsure that Lia would agree to it. “She wants to go to college, mom,” he said. “So I think this is a conversation you should have with her, not me”

When River stared at Hawk, he bit his apple and avoided her penetrating gaze. He really didn’t want to get into this matter. Pushing Lia was the h*ardest task ever.

“Okay fine!” River said in frustration. “I will talk to her myself!” She rose from the chair and strode out of the living hall, leaving the boys with their father.

Hunter pursed his l*ips. “Why do you have to upset your mother? Couldn’t you just say that you would talk to Lia?”

“But father, you know that Lia wants to go to college. With the exams coming up, she barely has time to do warrior training. Do you think she would want the responsibility of the new Luna?” Arthur argued.

“Arthur, Arthur!” Hunter shook his head. “I know that, but there’s a way to deflect an argument. I mean, learn these tricks. They will be beneficial to you in the future. The argument would be stalled for a few days. Then you have time to think about it.”

“What if the situation remains the same?” Hawk asked, leaning forward.

“Then you keep stalling it,” Hunter grinned.

“I love you dad!” Hawk smiled and Hunter winked.

It was 11 PM on Sunday night and Lia was still finishing her homework. Arthur and Hawk had finished theirs and were trying to coax her to come with them to a new pub and restaurant that had opened in the pack’s territory. “I can’t go!” she said. “I need to finish this project and-” She drew a circle with a compass. “In the morning I have my warrior training, courtesy of both of you. So I have to sleep early for my b*ody to perform better. It will take another hour!”

Hawk pursed his l*ips, slumping on her bed. “You are such a killjoy!” Lia threw a paper weight at him which he caught in the air and chuckled.

“Why don’t you stay with us tonight?” Arthur suggested. “Once you’ve finished your project, we can go to this pub. From there, you can come to stay with us. We will wake you up in the morning for the training.” Lia scratched the back of her head as if pondering over the idea. “I can do that… but on a condition.”

“State your condition,” Arthur said gravely, knowing fully well that he would agree to all her conditions. The fagade was important.

“That we will come back from the pub in an hour. I need my beauty sleep!”

“Done!” Arthur replied.

An hour later, she was dressed in a navy dress that clung to her b*ody and stopped just over her knees. She tied her curly hair in a bun, applied a l*ip gloss, wore her stilettos and was ready. She smiled at them. “I am ready.”

The twins gulped. She looked gorgeous as sin.

“Goddess, I hope I don’t have to k*ill someone today,” Hawk rasped. Lia giggled. “Let’s go!”

The pub was not so crowded and they got a place on the terrace. It was a lovely night with a clear sky that was dazzled by the stars. “This is beautiful!” Lia said as she sat on the couch along with Arthur. Arthur couldn’t let go of her waist. He stared at her and breathed, “Hmm, beautiful is the right word.”

Hawk sat across them with a love-sick expression and his mind in the gutters. He removed his shoe and lifted his l*eg to trail up her l*eg. “Hawk!” she chided him.

“Hmmm?” His l*eg went higher, higher, higher and she blushed when it reached her p*anties.
